Southern Celebration Bridal Shower at The Sutherland
Brunch is the perfect time of day for a Bridal Shower in Raleigh! This Bridal Shower featured bright tablescapes, yummy food and fun surprises with a crossword puzzle!
One long table was set for twelve, and turquoise linens with bright orange napkins were used as the anchor colors of the event. Table settings included white square dinner plates with silver square chargers and glassware consisting of several shades of cobalt blue. “2010 is all about creating bold and daring color palettes.”
In keeping with the southern theme of our bridal shower, Weddings Magazine and Erin McLean Events used the front porch of The Sutherland Estate and Gardens, a superbly restored southern mansion, located in Wake Forest as the setting for our event.
The centerpiece was designed as a main focal point and included a number of eye-catching elements. Our floral designer, Doug Odom of the Purple Poppy, used a long narrow recycled tray that he had painted a high-gloss bright orange to hold the turquoise blue floral foam placed in the center of our modern but stylistic arrangement.
“We used tons of orange and blue flowers ranging from orange Donna roses, bright orange Gerber daisies, bicolor snap dragons and royal blue delphinium to elongate the arrangement,” says Doug Odom.
We interlocked orange pillar candles at various levels along with orange and turquoise blue votives at each end of the table. We placed a small accent arrangement to extend the flow of the main centerpiece, tying the table together beautifully.”
Inside the home, the main dinning room revealed a candy display along with delicious cupcakes (made by Raleigh’s favorite place for cupcakes, The Cupcake Shoppe – YUMM!) on a three-tiered silver cake stand. Extending the color palette, we incorporated orange and turquoise votives with several of the same flowering elements used on the main outdoor table.
