Welcome to Lavender Oaks Farm!
We are so grateful for your interest in experiencing our majestic, refined, yet rustic family farmstead. As you enter our gates, the serenity of our forest embraces you as our country road winds through tall loblolly pine, poplar, and oak trees to our lovingly restored century old timber frame barns, breathtaking lavender fields, picnic areas, and reflective pond. Our two historic timber barns are the highlight of our farm and beckon to create timeless memories on our private 60 acres in Chapel Hill, NC. We are a hidden treasure, yet located only 5 miles to downtown Chapel Hill, less than 10 minutes to hotels, shopping, restaurants, and only 20 minutes to RDU International Airport. There is always something blooming and growing on Lavender Oaks Farm and we practice sustainable farming techniques to bring seasonal colors that surround you in a vibrant palette of nature. Our lavender farm includes over 4,000 lavender plants in nine varieties, rows of grapevines, hops, an organic garden, plus acres of soaring forest. Your invitation awaits to experience our hidden treasure for timeless memories!
The Lavender Barn
The highlight of our farm is our Lavender Barn, a restored circa 1900 timber frame dairy barn that is 6,700 sq. ft., and includes a 1,000 sq. ft. loft. As you enter, you are immediately greeted by the soaring 32’ high rustic pine ceiling, cascading hand-carved wood beams, and four grand crystal and wrought iron chandeliers. Our Lavender Barn is temperature controlled for year-round use, includes two separate retreat rooms, one with a private entrance, the other with double doors open to the back patio overlooking our lavender fields and gardens. Also, there is a prep kitchen for caterers, and our “Lavender Oaks Shoppe” where we sell our handmade lavender products, plus other local artisan wares. Two wrought iron glass doors open to a 2,700 sq. ft patio with our antique white gazebo overlooking our lavender fields, grapevines, and hops. We produce and make all our lavender products in this barn, and can provide lavender gifts for your guests. It’s refined, yet rustic, and beckons to create enchanted memories with family and friends. Our Lavender Barn is a wonderful venue for weddings, corporate events, farm to fork dinners, wedding ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, reunions, photography sessions, workshops, film location, and more.
Our Pavilion Barn
Our Pavilion Barn, only steps from the main Lavender Barn, is 1260 sq ft, open on all sides, and is a circa 1860 restored timber frame hay barn. The ceiling is 26′ high with amber lighting encompassing the perimeter, a wrought iron chandelier, and two ceiling fans. The Pavilion Barn is the first stop for our freshly harvested lavender, the place we distill our lavender oil, and a peaceful respite to take in the view of our fields, and surrounding forest. Our Open-Air Pavilion Barn is the perfect rustic venue for a farm to fork dinner, small wedding ceremonies, rehearsal dinners (al fresco), cocktail hours, birthday parties, corporate functions, reunions, photography sessions, workshops, luncheons, bridal and baby showers.
At Lavender Oaks Farm, we want your special event to be as magical and stress free as possible. We offer several options for renting our barns and grounds, and hope you’ll arrange a private tour to discuss all the incredible possibilities our farm will provide to make your dream occasion a reality. There is always an on-site representative and security person available on the day of your event to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.
Dried lavender is available year-round to accent your event, or provide a memento from our farm for your guests. We have several local vendors we are happy to recommend, or welcome vendors you have decided upon. We look forward to bringing your beautiful vision to life on our family farm.
