Durham Bulls Styled Shoot 2017 at Bull City Cigar Co
Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend!
Bachelorette parties can get a bad rep. When some people think of the bride’s last fling, they can’t see past hot pink, leopard print, and a touch of naughty decor. Let’s face it, that look isn’t for everyone! So when All American bride Molly wanted a send off that was a little more her speed, Jennifer V. Events swung for the fences and threw her an all-star bachelorette bash in the style of America’s Favorite Pastime.
Wedding and event planner Jennifer Viscosi drafted a talented roster of wedding professionals to create this fun and fabulous bachelorette. Bull City was the name of the game, so they focused on throwing a party that celebrated the things that make Durham one of North Carolina’s most celebrated cities.
A darling invitation suite from Live a Life by Design welcomed the team to Molly’s “Last Swing Before the Ring,” and gave the lineup of events. Before taking in a Bull’s game, the girls enjoyed a warm up at Bull City Cigar Co., where they participated in a fun and unique activity from another Durham staple: A hand rolled cigar station for the bride and her maids to enjoy as an homage to Durham’s rich tobacco history.
The guests, donned in custom baseball tees from Hello LIVELY, indulged in delicious cocktails and local brews. The menu featured a fun twist on ballpark cuisine from Empire Eats Catering, including a double play of barbeque sliders and tacos. Slice Pie Company created a home run dessert: Precious little hand pies that let the girls stay agile and take in the game while they finished their treats!
As a clever and charming touch, Bulls (a nod to the mascot of the team and the city itself) made an appearance throughout the decor in all shapes and sizes. Creative floral design from Knots and Such brought a feminine flair to the event, especially in an arrangement of red and white carnations in the shape of – what else – a baseball! Orange and blue, the Bull’s team colors, were proudly displayed throughout the fete, especially on the beautiful tabletop linens from Bull City favorite American Party Rentals. Their sequined Bulls Blue linens were in a league of their own!
Long before Bull Durham introduced the world to “Hit Bull Win Steak” in 1988, the Durham has been a home base for the rich history of Hardball. This made it the pitch perfect spot for a creative and laid back day of fun for Molly and her bridesmaids, Hailey, Hunter and Janelle. To round out the evening, the ladies enjoyed cocktails in the Fun Zone with Wool E. Bull himself, and on deck to capture all of the game faces and major league moments was Heba Salama Photography.
