Real Wedding: Megan & Ross – The Barn of Chapel Hill
It was a beautiful, clear day when Megan and Ross were married in a rustic, yet romantic ceremony at The Barn of Chapel Hill. They said their “I Do”s under a wooden pergola topped with vines and adorned with an arrangement of blooms in reds and pinks. The altar was set against a woodland backdrop and in front of the iconic, white barn.
Megan wore a simple gown with a flowing white skirt that fell over the lower half of her body gracefully. The lace bodice had a sweetheart neckline, and it included a white sheer modesty top embroidered with lace at the neckline and the sleeves. Under the gown, she wore a pair of brown cowboy boots and pink, knee-high socks with the word “Bride” printed vertically on the outside. She wore her chestnut hair in loose curls, with the top half pinned at the back and adorned with a few floral sprays.
Megan enjoyed a special first look with her bridesmaids, who wore full-length blush gowns with different necklines. They each carried a bouquet of small blooms with brown stems and beads at the center. The bouquets were held together thin pieces of lace.
Ross wore a gray suit with a white shirt and red tie. His groomsmen wore the same ensemble but without the jacket. Instead, they donned blue suspenders. All the men wore black converse and a boutonniere of a single blush bloom with a small floral spray, wrapped in a piece of leather lace.
After the ceremony, guests moved inside the barn for the reception, which was decorated with lanterns surrounded by greenery and light florals. Other décor included candelabras, signs made with chalkboard paint and hand lettering, a small display of photos of loved ones who could not be at the ceremony, and a guest “book” of a Jenga game in which guests could write their names on the blocks.
City Barbeque catered the meal, and Drinkz by Design stocked the bar. Guests enjoyed a s’mores bar for dessert, which was also provided by City Barbecue. A friend of Megan and Ross spun the tunes that kept guests dancing throughout the night. Guests enjoyed celebrating together, and J&A Photography captured all the special moments of the celebration.
Megan and Ross celebrated with loved ones until the late hours of the night. They took their leave through an archway of sparklers held by their guests, and they stopped for a picture and a kiss at the end while holding up their own sparklers. They left the ceremony in a car provided by Eco Style, ready to start their happily ever after. It was the perfect start to their married lives together, surrounded by family and friends and sharing their love for one another.
