Real Wedding: Melissa + Alan at Traine
Southern sophistication and charm marked the nuptials of Melissa and Alan. They were married at Traine, Raleigh’s historic and original Railway Express operation. Now inactive as a railway service, the venue made a beautiful setting for the couple’s weddin featuring natural brick walls and timber wooden beams. The ceremony was decorated with ivory blooms and lush greenery encasing metallic gold rings.
Melissa looked gorgeous in a strapless deep V with lace overlay and tiered tulle skirt. Adam complemented his bride in a black suit and lilac tie, which matched the color of Melissa’s bridesmaids’ dresses. She carried a bouquet of white roses and other light blooms. The groomsmen highlighted their personal styles by wearing creative socks with their grey suits.
Hanging market lights and candlelight were used to decorate the reception and emphasize the romantic aura. Tables were dressed in white linens and topped with floral centerpieces, greenery, floating tea lights, and metallic gold votives. One long table featured a continuous strand of greenery interspersed with light blooms in gold vases and votives encased in geometric lanterns.
Melissa and Adam invited guests to “snap, stick, and sign” a photo of themselves for the guest book, a creative and intimate way to remember the celebration of their special day. The cake, designed by Edible Art of Raleigh, displayed an array of purple hues, which flawlessly melted into one another to create a work of art dusted with gold accents.
After guests enjoyed cake, they were up on their feet dancing the night away – only stopping for Melissa’s bouquet toss.
When the evening came to a close, the newlyweds were ushered out by sea of sparklers held by their guests. Melissa and Adam paused for a kiss in the middle of the aisle while Kate Pope photography snapped a photo, creating the perfect memory of the start of their lives together.
