Real NC Wedding : Romantic Southern NC Wedding at the Hudson Manor
This romantic and southern NC wedding at The Hudson Manor Estate first appeared in the 2014 issue as a part of our party style section as a collaboration of several amazing NC Wedding Vendors. From the custom paper products to the hand picked vintage rentals, this styled shoot was one for the ages. Heba Salama Photography captured every ethereal detail in rich rosy shades of mauve, gold and emerald green. Inspired by one of the most romantic films of all time, Gone with the Wind, this shoot perfectly captured the spirit of a romantic and southern affair.
“Gina Myers of La Cosa Bella Events created a “Gone With the Wind” inspired styled wedding shoot at the Hudson Manor that would have even pleased the fickle Scarlett O’Hara.
Gina researched historical details from the era portrayed in the film, and incorporated modern elements to bring the story to life. The result was a blend of romantic, old-world elegance and contemporary sophistication from the very beginning, with custom-designed invitations created by Opus 1 Weddings that set the stage in shades of emerald, sage and dusty rose.
The Hudson Manor Estate houses a brand new chapel, flanked by resplendent magnolia trees that were in full bloom the day of the photo shoot. Nearby was the outdoor reception area, where heirloom elements like vintage china, lace, brooches, crystal and silver helped to set the tone for the happy occasion.
Richly hued walnut furniture provided a stately contrast to the fine linens and delicate lace used throughout the event, and tables were lavishly decorated for a distinguished feel. At each table, crystal-draped antique candelabras towered over lush floral arrangements by Fleuressence, consisting of blooms in pale peach and pink, accented by vibrant jewel tones. The colors were matched in the bride’s bouquet, which was wrapped in emerald green ribbon and featured a hand-painted antique brooch. Vintage china provided by Vieux Vintage Rentals was used at each place setting, as well as at the sweetheart table.
Hors d’oeuvres provided by the Hudson Manor Estate included Carolina crab cakes with Cajun remoulade, assorted mini quiches, and chocolate-covered strawberries. The buffet offered Bourbon beef tenderloin served with a horseradish cream sauce, and herb-roasted chicken breast in a white wine lemon butter sauce with sautéed asparagus. Cakes by Chloe created a regal wedding cake featuring ruffles and iridescent gems, which was showcased under a leafy arbor.
A luxurious salmon-colored tufted sofa by Vieux Vintage Rentals gave the bride a place to lounge under a gorgeous shade tree after dinner, surrounded by other memorable heirlooms. Vintage teacups with flowers and custom-designed tags served as delightful favors, bringing the celebrated theme of the wedding full circle.
